The Story
The Fabergé 18ct Yellow Gold Green Guilloché Enamel Egg Objet with Twin Flower Surprise is decorated with a vibrant green guilloché enamel ‘shell’, which has been hand carved with an intricate floral design, marked out by eye, and finished with a fine polish.
The egg opens to reveal a charming twin flower surprise sitting upon an 18ct yellow gold guilloché base. Standing 65mm high, the egg is mounted on a stand crafted from carved bowenite and includes a responsibly sourced Gemfields Zambian cabochon emerald button. The surprise itself is an 18ct yellow gold twin flower plant. Each petal is hand-painted with light pink guilloché enamel and each leaf with a light green guilloché enamel.
A special detail is the gold rim that encircles the guilloché plate – the gold has been worked by hand into an organic pattern, echoing the shape of the flower buds.
Limited edition 1/10.
About Faberge
In 1882, Peter Carl Fabergé took over his father’s very ordinary jewellery business and quickly transformed it into an international phenomenon. The ordinary became the extraordinarily fashionable. Out went the French 18th century style where diamonds prevailed. In came the design-led artist-jeweller with a penchant for colour through both gemstones and reviving the lost art of enamelling. The craftsmanship was of the very finest standard. This formula made Fabergé irresistible and the ultimate objects to own, as well as the gift of choice.
